Here’s the prompt for Top Ten Tuesday this week:
So, following the directions, there are only 8 books that make the cut! Apparently, I read a lot of popular books. Maybe I should go off the beaten path every now and then. Interestingly, eight of the nine are on my Must Reads shelf:
Slipping by Cathleen Davitt Bell (107 ratings) – Loved this book of a boy who is trying
to figure out why he is connected to his dead grandfather’s ghost.
In
Fidelity by M.J.Rose (152 ratings) – I have almost no recollection of this
book. I read it before I was blogging or attempting to remember books in any
way… Apparently, I loved it because not only is it on my Must Reads shelf, I
also gave it 5 stars.
Abroad
by Katie Crouch (955 ratings) – I didn’t do a review for this book, but my
Goodreads comment is thus: So good.
Top 5 of the year, so far.
Wake of Vultures by Lila Bowen (1,036 ratings) - interesting and weird.
The Girl with the Ghost Eyes by M.H. Boroson (1,148 ratings) – We need diverse
books, y’all. And hopefully they are all as good as this one about a young girl
trapped in her father’s shadow in more ways than one.
The Great American Whatever by Tim Federle (1,230 ratings) – I have been internally
raving about this book for a few weeks. It’s a great LGBT, new adult read.
The Fair Fight by Anna Freeman (1,349 ratings) – I was surprised at how much I
enjoyed this book of women boxers and prostitutes.
The Weight of Feathers by Anna- Marie McLemore (1,715) – utterly predictable and
lovely. I recommended it as a page turner book.
